On Friday 8th October, 36 FHS students attended the South West Poll Dorset Regions Youth Day. This day was run by local Poll Dorset breeders and was designed to teach students about selection, breeding, preparing and showing sheep, as well as taking part in a junior judging competition.
There were about 100 students there from schools all around the region, such as Moama Grammar, Deniliquin High, St. Paul's and Scots School.
Students from Finley went very well in the judging competition, with Ned Beazley getting second and Victoria Alexander third in the Experienced Section. Intermediate Section: 1st Eloise Ashley-Cooper, 2nd Katie Archer, 3rd James McCaw, Encouragement Award Sophie Lostroh. Novice Section: 3rd Jack Sexton.
The students all did very well and did a great job helping to pack everything up at the end of the day.
